Trades Discovery for Women

The Trades Discovery programs are designed to allow participants extensive access to the available trades and technical training. These highly practical and relevant training programs prepare participants to successfully enter and complete trades/technical training or seek apprenticeship.

Trades - Sampler

In this course students learn safe work practices, trades terminology, basic hand skills, safe use of tools and equipment, a general working knowledge of the trades and the path to an apprenticeship and a career in the skilled trades. After an Intro to Trades program our students have a better sense of which skilled trade appeals to them, what the prerequisites are for further training and what the path looks like to work opportunities.

Steamfitter/ Pipefitter - Apprenticeship

Steamfitters/Pipefitters lay out, assemble, fabricate, maintain, repair and service equipment and piping systems carrying water, steam, fluids, gases, chemicals, and fuel in various systems such as heating, cooling, lubricating and process piping systems. The Steamfitter/Pipefitter program contains 4 levels that cover the in-school technical portion of the apprenticeship training. All levels of training use applied learning in conjunction with practical exercises.

Quality and Process Management - Certificate

The quality function is a critical part of every type of organization, including manufacturing, service, healthcare, and non-profit. This program is designed for people wanting to work in quality related jobs (quality engineering, quality control, quality assurance), and to add critical skill sets to people working in a wide variety of operations positions (supply chain, logistics, production/service delivery).
