Action Team ActivityRight now, members of these workforce-related initiatives are participating with WorkforceConnect and the Alberta Nonprofit Workforce Council: The Calgary HR Initiative is a collective undertaking of local nonprofit organizations, funders, human services networks and governments, developing short- and long-term sustainable solutions to the human resource issues facing Calgary’s nonprofit human service organizations. Their work is focused on: building awareness and facilitating educational opportunities; addressing funding levels and practices; and providing human resource and organizational effectiveness resources. Nonprofit SectorLink Wood Buffalo provides strategy, structure and processes to enable sustainable capacity-building and collaborative advocacy for the Wood Buffalo nonprofit sector. It addressed the workforce and organizational effectiveness issues and opportunities of the sector, building capacity and practical solutions to enhance and improve human resource management practices. The Disabilities Workforce Councils are activities of Community Disability Services Alberta. Based in Calgary, Edmonton, Central-South and Northeast Alberta, they focus on the HR challenges faced by nonprofit organizations that provide disability services across the province and provide conferences and leadership development for the sector. |
